LETTER 1-----------------------------------(From Iranians)Subject: We ask you to not join in the ways of the dictators of the past and to acknowledge and respect the people's movement of Iran
Dear representatives of the European Union,
Your actions are based on the premise that the Islamic Republic government is here to stay. However, more than anything else, the people of Iran have shown their power.
At times you have supported the people of Iran based on principle, and that is commendable. The actions of Western governments and media, including your own, however, have been markedly dictatorial at times, because the Iranian people's power has yet to be fully and consistently acknowledged nor respected. Planning to reach out, convince, or negotiate with Iran's illegitimate and crippled government is the greatest affront to the Iranian people's power, and therefore their democratic rights and fight for freedom.
In your own culture there is the saying, stemming from Plato, that the wisest are those who know they do not know. We ask you to be wise. What you are doing is based on the assumption that the Islamic Republic is here to stay, which is both false and the single most important piece of propaganda that the Islamic Republic wants the world to believe.
We ask you to not join in the ways of the dictators of the past, and to acknowledge and respect the people's movement of Iran.
Sincerely,
Iranian Citizen

LETTER 2-------------------------------(Can be From Anyone)
Dear representatives of the European Union,
The world has been witness to the killings of Iranian people in the streets of many Iranian cities, since the June 2009 rigged elections and in the recent days, especially on the holiest Islamic day of Ashura. The world has also come to learn of the rape, torture, and execution of those detained during these protests and of political prisoners in Iran. While messages of condemnation of the Iranian regime has poured in from the U.S. and European nations, it is appalling to learn that the European Union, which represents democratic European nations, plans to send a delegation to Iran in January, 2010.... See More
The Iranian people, both inside Iran and outside Iran, have voiced their disdain of the Iranian regime and their struggle to bring democracy to Iran has been heard by the world.
We consider that a trip to Iran by the European Union, under these circumstances, is turning a blind eye to Iranian regime’s criminal activities.
We would like to ask the European Union to:
1) Condemn the brutal acts by the Iranian regime toward its citizens
2) Cancel this disgraceful trip
3) Stop appeasing the Iranian regime
4) Place international pressure on the Iranian regime to free political prisoners, stop torture, rape, and execution and end suppression of the Iranian people
5) Facilitate a free election under the auspices of the United Nations so that the Iranian people can choose their desired system of government based on democratic principles.
Sincerely,

LETTER 3-------------------------------(By Arash Hejazi, Iranian Citizen)
O World! Enough hesitation! It’s time to act
http://arashhejazi.com/en/2009/12/o-world-enough-hesitation-its-time-to-act/
فارسی: http://arashhejazi.com/1388/10/timetoact/
Hundreds of newspapers have been shut down in Iran; international reporters have been banned; hundreds of Iranian journalists are in prison; internet has almost been shut down; the sophisticated filtering system has blocked the contact of the Iranian people with the world; the police is massacring people in the streets in broad daylight and then blames the violence on the people themselves; the government is giving out lies after lies; all the minority ethnic and religious groups are suffering from the official oppression; prisoners have been tortured, raped, murdered; the Basij militia shoots unarmed civilians in the streets; students have been expelled from the universities because of protesting against tyranny…
While you, people of the world, are celebrating the New Year by embracing your loved ones with joy, while you dance to the Christmas tunes, the young people in Iran are dancing to the macabre music of the bullets and embrace batons and teargas. While you are hugging each other and wishing a happy new year, mothers in Iran are forbidden to shed tears for their children who were brutally murdered by the police trucks running them over. The people of Iran are alone, they are broken, they are tired, but determined to go on.
Do you think this has nothing to do with you? Do you think that you only need to worry about your domestic affairs? Do you think that saying a few words of condemnation will redeem you from your global responsibility towards human rights? Is this the global citizenship you preach?
This is the most dangerous State in the world. Hesitate in acting and you will see how this government, rooted in lies, will destroy your own children. What do you expect? Do you think that a totalitarian regime that does not show mercy to its own children will have pity on your people? Do you think that this beast will stay calm and watch you? Wrong! Hesitate and see.
The people of Iran have spoken with their torn throat and through the last sparkle of life in Neda’s eyes; they have written their vows with their own blood on the pavements in the streets: They want to be global citizens, they resent terrorism, tyranny, lies, wars, nuclear weapons… and they have died the most brutal deaths for speaking out. Why are you watching silently? Do you think you are safe? Do you think that this cancer will be contained inside the borders or Iran? Do you think that the rotten claw of this grim reaper will not reach you? Wrong. Hesitate and see.
It is time to act. There are people drowning in Iran. Do not believe the lies of the Iranian government. This government that denies all these brutalities is the same that denies the Holocaust, that claims that there are no homosexuals in Iran, that Neda Agha Soltan was killed by CIA, MI6 and BBC, and there is freedom of press in Iran.
How to act? We do not want any violence. This government is falling. Just do not support the government. Do not recognise the current government of Iran. Do not negotiate with them – How can any negotiation with someone who tells nothing but lies and is willing to break any promise, be fruitful? Do not be deceived by their lies. Expel the Iranian ambassadors and diplomats. You will lose nothing and will gain everything by supporting the future of Iran. Hesitate, and you will be run over by the evil machines of this rotten government. Hesitate, and you will be weeping over the graves of your own children.
It is time to act. Hesitate, and when you regret your hesitation, it will be too late.
Iranian Citizen

LETTER 4-------------------------------
Your Excellency,
Please allow me to strongly support this letter sent to you by my compatriot, Mr. H. Hakimi. On behalf of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of young Iranian men and women who are struggling every single day and night for their rights to elementary freedoms that are enjoyed by every free, just and democratic Nation, I would like to remind you that the current Iranian government does not represent the huge majority of my countrymen and women. Even the Islamic Regime has lost its legitimacy in my country!
I have many friends and colleagues who have been beaten up, tortured, shot and killed for only asking the most normal and natural things that a dignified human being can and has the right of asking his/her government : freedom, democracy and justice!
Today, almost every family in Iran is mourning at least one loved one!... All we expect from the civilized and free world is to support us to overcome these dark days of our history, and our return to a just and respectable community to which we belong. At this time and after having passed months of violent oppression from an unwanted and despised system of government, what kind of message the trip of European Officials could give to my morally and physically wounded compatriots!?...
On behalf of those courageous men and women that, I am sure, you have seen many times in the streets of my country, I beg Your Excellency to reconsider such trips, and instead, give some glimmers of hope in this dark path on which we find ourselves today, but hopefully not for long.
Very respectfully,

LETTER 5-------------------------------
You have a responsibility to humanity - particularly, you German, Greek, Danish, Austrian, Polish, European Parliamentary representatives should THINK about your actions, before going to Iran to shake hands with its seemingly illegally-in-power leader. At least the Iranian peple have more courage than the poor German people did, against Hitler. Sorry to be so blunt. But I really think you should THINK about what you are doing and how History will judge you. Not just History - but us. And is your trip being financed by us - whose families suffered from Hitler's actions? I'm NOT Jewish - just a European (and I like to think, a World-) Citizen.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Gaff
